Mirror, mirror on the wall. Should my next dildo be big, or should I keep it small? Will it be blue or will it be red? Are there satisfying things that would be nice to add? Can I want it soft, while I like it hard? Which factors will make me want to start? Tell me what is the dildo, that I’ve been waiting for so long? I would love to know which dong is right and which dong is wrong.
While we might not all share our struggles by ways of poetry, finding the right dildo is a complex quest for many of us. It’s highly important to find a dildo that adds value and excitement to your solo or shared sexy time. Though, there is not a lot of information out there on how to choose the right size and kind of pleasure pole. There are so many different considerations to make when choosing the right dong for you, whether it be the size, shape, density, material, texture or color. That’s where we come in (see what we did there?). Let’s talk dildos.
What types of dildos are there?
The right answer to that question is easy: a lot. Let us take you through the characteristics that vary the most:
Hard vs. soft. Harder dildos are made from less flexible and less bendable materials than softer dildos.
Representational vs. non-representational. While some dildos are so realistic that they look like real penises, others come in shapes and forms that can’t be further away from the human body.
Vibrating or non-vibrating. Where dildos themselves are non-vibrating, they can become a vibrating vessel by, e.g., adding a bullet inside.
Double-ended. These toys have two ends - surprise, surprise - and can be used in two different places simultaneously, whether it’s individually (vaginally and anally) or by two partners at the same time.
Wearable. Within the dildo family, you can also meet the strap-on and pack-and-play dildo.
Featured. For example, you can decide whether to add a suction cup, which allows hands-free penetration by attaching the dildo to a surface, or a cumtube. The latter is to make the toy manually cum, which makes a great addition to a fantasy dildo.
Body-safe vs. non body-safe. Call us Caption Obvious, but since we are proud ambassadors of body-safe sex we can’t stop mentioning the differences between body-safe materials and toxic ones. In case you need to refresh your memory, you can check out our blog: “Body-safe materials for sex toys”.
How to choose the right dildo?
Just to give you an idea, at the Konfettie marketplace we’re selling dildos in a pastry theme (do you like cannolis?), dildos that look like fruit, Halloween-themed dildos and dildos from your wildest, extraterrestrial fantasies. No, but literally. Our fantasy dongs are hot and happening and this is how you choose yours:
Eyes on the size. First: bigger isn’t always better. What your body can handle is just as important as what you want. If a dildo is too big, either in (insertable) length, thickness and/or girth, you won’t be able to use it. Too small, on the other hand, won’t get the job done.
Shape. In fact, a lot of dildos aren’t even penis-shaped. Some are smooth and sleek, others are textured with bumps and grooves and plenty can come curved. What is your preference? With some of our fantasy toys, it can become a bumpy ride.
Usage. What are you, literally and figuratively speaking, using the dildo for? Do you want the dong to spoil your G-spot or A-spot? And are you using the dildo solo, with someone else or with several people? Even though body-safety should always be a priority, it’s a serious must to be able to disinfect a toy when you’re conducting multi-play.
Material. When shopping for the right material, the most important thing is that it’s non-toxic and non-porous and therefore body-safe. Though, there are various body-safe materials, that all differ in firmness (soft, harder, soft on the outside and hard on the inside) and textures (smooth, veiny or ribbed). For example, glass dildos come with an absence of flexibility, which is a preference for some and a drawback for others. Body-safe silicone toys, on the other hand, are on the softer side and have little limitations.
Design and look. It should never be a taboo that the eye wants something too. Luckily, fantasy toys are called fantasy toys for a reason. A foxtail? Sure. A dildo that seems to come from outer space? No problem. Anything goes and nothing is too crazy. The same applies to colors. Whether you have a favorite color, you would like the color combination of your home country or you really want your dildo to be purple with yellow dots and white stripes: lots of our sellers are ready to custom make the dong of your dreams. In case you are overwhelmed by the choices, you can also go for an existing (stock) fantasy toy. A plus is that those are delivered faster.
When you order a fantasy dildo from a curated Seller on Konfettie, make sure you tick all the boxes during check out. By doing so, you can customize every aspect of the toy. Curious about what fantasy toys sparkle our fantasies? Take a look:
